This was my first trip to Europe with a small strobe rig. I tried to take it with me everywhere and after awhile I barely noticed it. Plus, almost magically, I didn't lose any equipment. Wait. Except for a flash transceiver in a mosh pit a some mad ass party.
Aww
Having a small, cheap and losable flash really freed me up. I used inexpensive triggers and actually never used my lightstand, though I had it with me. In the shot above I actually lit the mini-truck pretty aggressively, but I think it worked out.

Granted the scenery was spectacular, but the strobe let me take better portraits and still life shizz. I was actually imagining having a huge strobe for the shot above. I mean really huge.

This is one of those case-in-points where a random shot looks more portraity thanks to a strobe and a nice, moody diffused background.
Crucifixion
This was an astounding installation in a vineyard with around a hundred hand made figures depicting the crucifixion and such.
